I am a 22-year old male, currently a junior at Georgia Tech working on a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am looking to travel before I have to get a regular office job, and would love to sign on as crew on a ship, whether it be cruise, freight or whatever, that travels around to interesting places. The yacht “Blonde Dream” is a Stevens 47 being completely refitted for extended cruising. Everything will be new and the best with cruising safety and self-reliance in mind. The boat has three sleeping cabins and two heads. The crew cabin is private with true upper and lower berths. The Captain/Owner is 54, USCG licensed, and has made several trips to the Carribean and back. The Captain, being hopelessly unemployed, will make the boat his full time home and his wife will travel to the boat half the time (silly girl likes to work). Both Captain and his beautiful “Blonde” wife are extremely fit and enjoy healthy lifestyle. Captain enjoys adventure and laziness, wife does not. We have learned from previous cruising to employ two paid crew at all times (just one gets lonesome). We have also learned that at least one of these two crew should be a female, as this keeps the boat civilized. Therefore we are looking to employ either a couple or two girls who are already friends. Duties are light (as is the pay), simply keep the boat spotless inside and out, the Captain lightly fed, and stand watch during passages. After an hour or two a day of cleaning and you are free to enjoy the water, beach and sun. Requirements are, of course, no smoking or drugs, must be very fit and trim, and be able to enjoy evenings in beautiful, quiet anchorages as well as crazy beach bars. (Captain’s wife loves to dance) No offshore experience is needed, but knowledge of what life on a boat is like, is a must. We will depart West Palm Beach, Florida the first week of November 2000, and not ever coming back. We will, however, pay your way to the boat and back home when you have had enough of life in paradise. Note we are looking for crew, not stewardesses.
