Chelidona at Kathikas

To the north of the town of Paphos, approximately 22km away, is the historical village of Kathikas with roots dating back to antiquity, rumor has it that the village was a stop-over for merchants and travellers since it is mid-way between Paphos and Polis Chrysochous. Here, they would rest along with their animals at the old inn which existed at the time.
Today Kathikas is still one of the most attractive villages of the area, well known for its great many vineyards, grapes being its main product and their cultivation the main occupation of the villagers. Notable is the church of Panayia Evangelistria (AD 1870).
The village forms part of the Akamas project, whose concern is the general improvement and boosting of the greater area on the basis of its traditional character and nature.
The visitor will also find here a tourist information center giving out information on the Akamas peninsula.

These village houses are situated in the village of Kathikas with its very Cypriot character. Kathikas is a friendly small village of 500 inhabitants perched on a vine - covered hill midway between Paphos and Polis. Its central, convenient position , provides an easy access to Paphos, Coral Bay, Polis, Baths of Aphrodite as well as Lara Bay (Akamas) with the turtle hatchery.

There are several provision stores, coffee shops and Taverns.
All of the houses have private car park.

Near the village square by the church, coffee shops and our restaurant -cafe are all the Chelidona houses, beautiful, stone built two-storey houses recently restored keeping traditional standards. They have been given the name Chelidona (Swallow) because of the countless swallows which have built their nests on the church of the Virgin Mary near the house.

Chelidona 1; The house consists of a sitting room with fire place on the ground floor, while a wooden staircase leads to the bedroom and balcony on the upper floor. The decoration is traditional with old type furniture and objects. There are 2 single beds and 1 sofa bed (2 people can sleep on the sofa bed).

CHELIDONA No 2: Near the village square by the church, coffee shops and our restaurant -cafe is Chelidona No 2, a , one storey house , recently restored keeping traditional standards. . The house consists of a sitting room, one bedroom and a beautiful country yard. The decoration is traditional with old type furniture and objects. There is 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed (2 persons can sleep in the sofa bed).

CHELIDONA No 3: Upstairs of Chelidona 2, recently restored keeping traditional standards. The house consists of a sitting room and one bedroom. The decoration is traditional with old type furniture and objects. There are 2 single beds and 1 sofa bed (2 persons can sleep in the sofa bed).

Prices

For 2 people C£50 a night for the house
For 3 or 4 people C£75 a night for the house

Minimum booking - 1 week - or 1 weeks payment.

All the accommodation includes fresh bed linen, towels etc.
