We thought it was time that information for the disabled was correlated, so that people
with disabilities, minor or major can find the information they need, to have a good time
in Cyprus. The people of Cyprus are definitely not unkind, just a little ignorant of
the problems involved in getting around and doing anything in a wheelchair (or even with a
pram if you see the way pavements are generally arranged).
It is certainly not an easy place to manoeuvre around the streets however if you are
aware of this before you come, you may not find it so annoying.. The main problems being
plenty of trees and bushes in the middle of pavements ( where they exist ), many uneven
paving slabs, high curbs and not enough ramps. The upside is friendly and generally
patient people, a growing awareness in public places (an increasing number of wheelchair
ramps at banks and in pubs/restaurants ) and a willingness to help.

There are people who specialise in holidays for the disabled, providing airport
transfers, certified user friendly
accommodation, tours and trips in
suitable vehicles to appropriate venues and whatever care you may need.
