Angling or Fishing in Cyprus   This page is for those of you who are interested in angling and fishing, mostly coarse fishing in Cyprus, but we can also arrange deep sea fishing if you like, check it out below.

Coarse Fishing for Carp Cyprus is an ideal place for those who have never tried coarse fishing or those experienced anglers who's life is bereft without it. The warm sunny climate here is ideal as you don't have to spend endless hours sheltering under an umbrella (although we do recommend a sun parasol!) listening to the drizzle, even though that can be a time when you are the bravest fisherman on the best stretch of water. However in our experience the fish like the sunshine as much as anglers do and so if you want to catch a variety of fish ranging from bass, zander, carp, roach, catfish and many more, we have twenty three well stocked reservoirs with a huge variety of healthy unmarked fish for you to catch, photograph and then return to where they are happiest, their dam. In 1989 the angling world five hour match record was set in Cyprus with 323 Ilb 5 ounces. A total of 177 carp was caught to achieve this record. Festivals are organised by Cyprus Angling Holidays, twice a year. Course Fishing is available Island wide and some of the better known dams are; Evratou dam Mavrolymbos dam Asprokremmos dam Kouris dam Achna dam Kalavassos dam The costs are: Limassol area   One to Four + fishers - 60 Euros per adult and 43 Euros per child (11 years and under).   All other areas   Two to three fishers - 70 Euros per adult and 52 Euros per child (11 years and under).  Four + fishers - 60 Euros per adult and 43 Euros per child  (11 years and under). This price includes transfers, fishing permits, all fishing equipment, water and a packed lunch. The days fishing starts at approximately 09.00am and you can fish for as long as you want.  All you need to bring are yourselves, a hat and some sun cream. The reason it is more expensive from anywhere but Limassol is because your angling guide for the day has to travel from Limassol to pick you up. Just to let you know that in the 2005 season they caught (and put back) a 36lb Carp. Can you beat that in 2008 ?
